Full Reign appears to be at the top of his game going into the Group 1 Perth Cup at Ascot Racecourse on January 1, 2013.
The four-year-old has won his past two race starts and will be out to make it three in a row when he runs in the 2013 Perth Cup next month.
Full Reign has won five of his 11 race starts and has earned more than $155,000 in prize money during his horse racing career.
The Blackfriars gelding’s most recent win came in the $47,500 Tabtouch.Mobi Handicap at Ascot on December 1, 2012.
Co-trainer Peter Giadresco is confident that Full Reign can continue his winning run in the 2013 Perth Cup.
“Full Reign is in top condition,” Giadresco said.
“He’s very relaxed and won’t be troubled by distance increases in the ATA Handicap and Perth Cup.
“His preparation has been perfect.”
While a jockey is yet to be confirmed for the stayer, Giadresco is hoping to nab an east coast jockey that will be able to ride at his low weight.
“We’ve discussed bringing a jockey from the Eastern States to ride Full Reign in the cup,” the trainer said.
“We want the best available lightweight rider.”
The 2013 Perth Cup will be Full Reign’s first attempt at a Group 1 race start.
He has previously faced Group competition in the Group 3 Asian Beau Stakes last month, where he placed fifth behind Westriver Kevydonn.
