Full Peal could be a late entry into the Group 2 Perth Cup on December 31, 2011, at Ascot Racecourse after he continued his winning streak at Flemington last Saturday.
The five-year-old gelding has won all five of his previous starts, including the Zouki Western Health Club Handicap last start.
Full Peal has won seven of his 14 career starts and has earned more than $120,000 in prize money.
Trainers Bill and Symon Wilde are considering paying the $9,800 late fee to enter Full Peal into the 2011 Perth Cup on New Years Eve.
Symon Wilde is looking at the Perth Cup as a likely target for Full Peal before taking him to the Hobart Cup and Launceston Cup in February next year.
“He has probably outraced himself from handicaps,” Wilde said.
“He has won his last five but he hasn’t been fully tested by the opposition.
“The time frame of the Perth Cup fits nicely into his program.
“I had thought firstly about the Hobart and Launceston cups, but they are still a bit down the track.”
Shane Edwards’ Dancin On The Wind is also looking to gain a start in the 2011 Perth Cup.
“Saturday’s win does not guarantee a start,” Hunter said.
“There are a number of horses above him and there is the Cox Stakes, St Leger and ATA Handicap to be run.
“At this stage, he would be an emergency.”
Dancin On The Wind has won four of his 14 race starts and has earned more than $85,000 in prize money.
